Description
I’ve been a knitter for quite a while now, but only started knitting socks a few years ago. I’d be hearing how passionate other knitters were about making them but never really ‘got it’ until I made my first pair – then there was no turning back!
One of the lovely things about sock knitting is that you really ‘need’ special equipment (and don’t we makers love our various accoutrements?!) like shorter dpns and mini circular needles. After a while, I felt a need for somewhere specific to store my special sock knitting tools and as this co-incided with a client wanting something specific for her short dpns, the sock knitters’ case was born!
This compact little case has room to hold everything you need for sock knitting – whether at home, or on the go. The pocket on the right hand side safely cocoons your 15cm / 6″ dpns – there’s room for 6 sets, from 2mm to 3.25mm. On the left hand side, there’s a large freeform pocket that closes with one snap, as well as a row of 3 shorter pockets with snap closures that are perfect for mini circulars. I’ve then added a lovely soft felt central sheet that protects the pocket contents and provides lots of storage for stitch markers and progress keepers.
All of the cases are made with a combination of Liberty prints in tana lawn and linen, Essex Linens (all have added metallic threads except the Hesketh case) and cottons. The outer has a little decorative stitching and the closure is secured with a magnetic snap.
I’m happy to make a custom case for you in your chosen fabrics – just message me to discuss. I can also tweak the design to fit your specific needles or your crochet hooks – again, just get in touch to chat about what’s possible.
The photos here show, the range of standard cases I can make for you in my fabric choices; a closer look at one of these cases showing the outside when closed and then each of the sections inside; the inside of each of the other cases in the first photo and, finally, the dimensions of my standard case when closed.
Please note that this listing is for the case only – not the needles and other photo props – although most of the stitch markers are available in my shop!
