Otters purse – a frame coin purse featuring super cute otters in brightly coloured Tula Pink fabric, large enough to carry cards and cash

You might not trust your hard earned cash to a playful otter in real life, but it should be safe with these guys! A great gift for any wildlife lover and would also be a great way to present a cash gift.

I’ve made this purse with lovely quality soft cottons. The outer is from a Tula Pink design and I’ve interfaced it with woven cotton for strength and longevity, as well as a layer of fleece to make the whole thing feel nice in your hand and give some protection to the contents. The lining is also interfaced and is made with a gold metallic Essex Linen in green and I’ve hand stitched the purse to an engraved bronze metal frame using some toning perle cotton.

The purse measures 8cm (3.25 inches) across at the top of the frame and 10cm (4 inches) across at the bottom, where I’ve boxed off the corners to give a little depth to the bottom of the purse of 3.5cm (1.5 inches). It stands a little over 9cm (3.5 inches) tall, which is just right to carry a credit card or two, as well as cash, if you wish to.
