I’ve made this purse with lovely quality soft cottons. The outer is from a collection called Enchanted Forest, designed by Betsy Olmsted for Windham fabrics. I’ve interfaced it with woven cotton for strength and longevity, as well as a layer of fleece to make the whole thing feel nice in your hand and give some protection to the contents. The lining is a lovely bright pink shade and I’ve hand stitched the purse to an engraved bronze metal frame using some toning perle cotton.
It makes a great gift for any wildlife or woodland lover and would also be a great way to present a cash gift.
The purse measures 8cm (3.25 inches) across at the top of the frame and 10cm (4 inches) across at the bottom, where I’ve boxed off the corners to give a little depth to the bottom of the purse of 3.5cm (1.5 inches). It stands a little over 9cm (3.5 inches) tall, which is just right to carry a credit card or two, as well as cash, if you wish to.
