Description
This coin purse is the perfect size to pop into your pocket with a little cash, a key and maybe a lip balm, when you want to travel light – you could also just squeeze a credit card in there. It’s also a great way to wrap up a money gift for a birthday or holiday gift, or to give as a bridesmaid gift.
I’ve made the purse with a beautiful and delicate Liberty Tana Lawn print called ‘Tess and Rosa’ inspired by tapestries seen at Mount Stewart and The Burrell Collection. Traditionally, primrose symbolises spring, first love, romance intoxication and attraction, while heather represents passion. Cornflower symbolises virtue, with cowslip representing pensiveness.
The purse outer is interfaced with woven cotton for strength and I’ve added some soft fleece to give a puffy effect that feels nice in your hand. The inside of the purse is lined with a rich gold coloured cotton – hard wearing enough to stand up to those coins jiggling about but still beautifully soft.
The engraved metal frame of the purse is an antique bronze colour and I’ve hand stitched it into place using a perle cotton to co-ordinate with the golden lining and the gold of the flowers in the print.
The purse measures 8cm (3.25 inches) across at the mid part of the frame and 12cm (4.75 inches) at the widest point, at the bottom, where I’ve boxed off the corners to give a little depth to the purse of 3cm (1.25 inch). It stands 9cm (3.5 inches) tall.
Please note that the photographs of the purse here are of one sample purse and your purse may look slightly different, according to how the fabric is cut.
You can add a wristlet strap to this purse if you wish to – please see this separate listing for full details: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/272705402/wristlet-strap-for-coin-purse-can-be?ref=shop_home_active_4
