Description
This little coin purse is the perfect size to pop into your pocket with a little cash, a key and maybe a lip balm, when you want to travel light. It’s also a great way to wrap up a money gift for a birthday or holiday gift.
I’ve made the purse with a beautiful and delicate Tana Lawn print called ‘Wild Flowers’ by Su Blackwell, which is a recollection of early childhood journeys across the British landscape in discovery of native flora. This joyous Liberty fabric was initially inspired by illustrations from an early 19th Century book, ‘Field Guide to Wild Flowers in Britain’. You can find another version of this purse with a dark background here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/267011523/coin-purse-made-with-liberty-tana-lawn?ref=shop_home_active_1
The purse outer is interfaced for strength and I’ve added some soft fleece to give a puffy effect that feels nice in your hand. The inside of the purse is lined with a medium weight purple coloured cotton – hard wearing enough to stand up to those coins jiggling about but still beautifully soft.
The engraved metal frame of the purse is a silver colour and I’ve hand stitched it into place using a toning perle cotton in a light violet shade.
The purse measures 8cm (3.25 inches) across at the top of the frame and 10cm (4 inches) across at the bottom, where I’ve boxed off the corners to give a little depth to the bottom of the purse of 3.5cm (1.5 inches). It stands a little over 9cm (3.5 inches) tall, which is just right to carry a credit card or two.
Please note that the photographs of the purse here are of one sample purse and your purse may look slightly different, according to how the fabric is cut.
You can add a wristlet strap to this purse if you wish to – please see this separate listing for full details: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/272705402/wristlet-strap-for-coin-purse-can-be?ref=shop_home_active_4
