Description
This coin purse is the perfect size to pop into your pocket with a little cash, a key and maybe a lip balm, when you want to travel light – you could also just squeeze a credit card in there. It’s also a great way to wrap up a money gift for a birthday or holiday gift, or to give as a bridesmaid gift.
I’ve made the purse with a beautiful Autumnal Liberty Tana Lawn print called ‘Prince George’, which was named after Prince George amd launched just after his birth. The design was taken from an original 1930s block design, made at Liberty London’s prominent Merton printworks.
The purse outer and lining are interfaced with woven cotton for strength and I’ve added some soft fleece to the outer to give a puffy effect that feels nice in your hand. The fabric inside the purse is a sparkling copper coloured Essex Linen with metallic gold thread and the engraved metal frame of the purse is an antique bronze colour, which I hand stitch into place using a perle cotton to co-ordinate with the print.
The purse measures 8cm (3.25 inches) across at the mid part of the frame and 12cm (4.75 inches) at the widest point, at the bottom, where I’ve boxed off the corners to give a little depth to the purse of 3cm (1.25 inch). It stands 9cm (3.5 inches) tall.
Please note that the photographs of the purse here are of one sample purse and your purse may look slightly different, according to how the fabric is cut.
You can add a wristlet strap to this purse if you wish to – please see this separate listing for full details: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/272705402/wristlet-strap-for-coin-purse-can-be?ref=shop_home_active_4
