Description
This coin purse is the perfect size to pop into your pocket with a little cash, a key and maybe a lip balm, when you want to travel light – you could also just squeeze a credit card in there. It’s also a great way to wrap up a money gift for a birthday or holiday gift, or to give as a bridesmaid gift.
I’ve made the purse with a rather ditsy Liberty Tana Lawn print called ‘Little Marquess’, which is based on a 1970s archival Liberty scarf design and was a instant classic, reproduced in several different versions over the years.
The purse outer is interfaced for strength and I’ve added some soft fleece to give a puffy effect that feels nice in your hand. The inside of the purse is lined with a lovely bronze coloured Essex Linen, shot with gold metallic threads – hard wearing enough to stand up to those coins jiggling about but still beautifully soft.
The engraved metal frame of the purse is an antique bronze colour and I’ve hand stitched it into place using a perle cotton to co-ordinate with the colours in the fabrics.
The purse measures 8cm (3.25 inches) across at the mid part of the frame and 12cm (4.75 inches) at the widest point, at the bottom, where I’ve boxed off the corners to give a little depth to the purse of 3cm (1.25 inch). It stands 9cm (3.5 inches) tall and is large enough to carry a few cards as well as cash, if you want to.
Please note that the photographs of the purse here are of one sample purse and your purse may look slightly different, according to how the fabric is cut.
You can add a wristlet strap to this purse if you wish to – please see this separate listing for full details: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/272705402/wristlet-strap-for-coin-purse-can-be?ref=shop_home_active_4
