Description
This little coin purse is the perfect size to pop into your pocket with a little cash, a key and maybe a lip balm, when you want to travel light. It’s also a great way to wrap up a money gift for a birthday or holiday gift, or to give as a bridesmaid gift.
I make this purse with a really fun Liberty Tana Lawn print called Queue for the Zoo, which is from the Spring Summer 2014 collection and represents the childrenswear department. The animals queuing for the zoo were hand drawn by OK David and painted exclusively for Liberty for this collection. The linings of these purses are of cotton and a linen cotton blend and the lining and outer fabric are interlined with woven cotton to add strength and structure. I’ve also added a soft fleece interfacing to the outer purse fabric to give a puffy effect that feels nice in your hand.
The engraved metal frame of the purse is hand stitched it into place using a toning perle cotton.
The purse measures 8cm (3.25 inches) across at the top of the frame and 10cm (4 inches) across at the bottom, where I’ve boxed off the corners to give a little depth to the bottom of the purse of 3.5cm (1.5 inches). It stands a little over 9cm (3.5 inches) tall, which is just right to carry a credit card or two, if you wish to.
Please note that the photographs of the purses here are of sample purses and your purse may look slightly different, according to how the fabric is cut.
You can add a wristlet strap to this purse if you wish to – please see this separate listing for full details: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/272705402/wristlet-strap-for-coin-purse-can-be?ref=shop_home_active_4
