tussah silk stole

Description

This is a really special crochet stole made from hand dyed 100% tussah silk yarn.  The official producer’s colour name for this shade is ‘Lichen on a tombstone’, which isn’t the jolliest name ever!  The colour itself however, is really lovely: it is a very soft pale green that looks almost silvery green in places.  Because the yarn is hand dyed in small batches by the makers, there is a natural variation on the colour throughout the stole and, of course, this means that each stole will be a slightly different colour and therefore a true one off.

At 190 cm, this is a pretty long stole that can be worn in a variety of ways and it is perfect for a summer cover up or to add some colour and texture to an outfit.  I’ve constructed this stole in two parts to make the stitch pattern lean two different ways, so the centre point is obvious to see.   As with all silk yarns, there is a lovely silvery sheen to this yarn, particularly when under stronger light – very pretty.
