mulberry silk bride’s shawl

Of course you don’t have to be a bride to wear this shawl, but it could be a perfect shawl for a bride!

The shawl is a generous size at over 2 metres long and 44cm wide and can be worn in a variety of ways.  It is made from 100% mulberry silk yarn in a crochet lace stitch.  The yarn is undyed and the natural colour of the silk is a rich cream, very pretty.

As with all silk yarns, there is a lovely silvery sheen to this yarn and it is light as air.  The stitch pattern I’ve used creates ripples and waves throughout the length of the shawl and because of the light nature of the yarn, it falls is lovely soft folds; even on the edges of the shawl, which are perfectly straight – silk moves with an elegance all of its own.
