This little coin purse is the perfect size to pop into your pocket with a little cash, a key and maybe a lip balm, when you want to travel light. It’s also a great way to wrap up a money gift for a birthday or holiday gift, or to give as a bridesmaid gift.
I’ve made the purse with a very cute pale blue print featuring lots of Guinea Pigs doing lots of fun things! The linings are both sparkling metallic Essex Linen – one in blue and silver, which comes with a silver coloured frame; and the other in copper and gold, which has a bronze coloured frame. Both layers are interfaced with woven cotton for strength and longevity, and I’ve also added a layer of soft fleece to give a puffy effect that feels nice in your hand.
The engraved metal frame of the purse is hand stitched it into place using a toning perle cotton. The purse measures 8cm (3.25 inches) across at the top of the frame and 10cm (4 inches) across at the bottom, where I’ve boxed off the corners to give a little depth to the bottom of the purse of 3.5cm (1.5 inches). It stands a little over 9cm (3.5 inches) tall, which is just right to carry a credit card or two, if you wish to.
