Coin purse made with Susannah print Liberty Tana Lawn, a golden lining, and a hand stitched bronze colour metal frame

Description

This little coin purse is the perfect size to pop into your pocket with a little cash, a key and maybe a lip balm, when you want to travel light. It’s also a great way to wrap up a money gift for a birthday or holiday gift, or to give as a bridesmaid gift.

I’ve made the purse with a gorgeous and richly coloured Liberty Tana Lawn print called ‘Susannah’ and lined it with some soft fleece to give a puffy effect that feels nice in your hand. The inside of the purse is lined with a deep golden coloured medium weight cotton – hard wearing enough to stand up to those coins jiggling about.

The engraved metal frame of the purse is a bronze colour and I’ve hand stitched it into place using a toning perle cotton in a golden shade.

The purse measures 8cm (3.25 inches) across at the top of the frame and 10cm (4 inches) across at the bottom, where I’ve boxed off the corners to give a little depth to the bottom of the purse of 3.5cm (1.5 inches). It stands a little over 9cm (3.5 inches) tall, which is just right to carry a credit card or two, if you wish to – the last photograph shows a purse of this size with cards, notes and coins inside.
