This little coin purse is the perfect size to pop into your pocket with a little cash, a key and maybe a lip balm, when you want to travel light. It’s also a great way to wrap up a money gift for a birthday or holiday gift, or to give as a bridesmaid gift.
I’ve made the purse with a cute and fun Chinese lucky cats print in a rich shade of red, with golden highlights. I’ve interfaced the outside of the purse for strength and then lined it with some soft fleece to give a puffy effect that feels nice in your hand. The inside of the purse is lined with a red and metallic gold woven linen and cotton blend fabric to add another layer of lucky red and the blessing of your purse always being full of gold – one way or another!
The engraved metal frame of the purse is a bronze colour and I’ve hand stitched it into place using a toning perle cotton in a dark red shade. If you like, you can also add a wristlet strap: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/272705402/wristlet-strap-for-coin-purse-can-be?ref=shop_home_active_11
The purse measures 8cm (3.25 inches) across at the top of the frame and 10cm (4 inches) across at the bottom, where I’ve boxed off the corners to give a little depth to the bottom of the purse of 3.5cm (1.5 inches). It stands a little over 9cm (3.5 inches) tall, which is just right to carry a credit card or two, if you wish to.
