Description
This is a ‘non-play with’ decorative type doll known as a ‘Tilda doll’ created by the Norwegian designer Tone Finnanger. These figures serve no other purpose than to look lovely and complement your decor. You can sit them on a window sill, a piece of furniture or a shelf – anywhere they can get a bit of a lean on – or you could display them using figure stands that can be bought online (or made quite easily for the more adventurous amongst you!).
The figure is stuffed with a high loft fire retardant polyester stuffing and is made from a linen / cotton blend cloth. She is 68.5 cms from tip to toe. 50s Tilda is dressed in a long cotton skirt that is gathered in soft pleats at the waist, which is covered with a removable broad belt. Her jacket is crocheted with an undyed fine alpaca yarn and the little heart buttons are made from coconut shell. Her 3 strand ‘pearl’ necklace is made with little white seed beads that have been threaded onto strong cotton thread and tied at the back (you can easily untie this to remove or to change the look of the necklace to how you want it).
We can make the skirt from any of the fabrics shown here – you choose which you prefer (each print is shown with a 5p piece so you can better judge the pattern size). You also have a choice of hair colour.
All our decorative dolls are made to order.
