Coin purse made with Alpine Pasture print Liberty Tana Lawn, a golden lining, and a hand stitched bronze colour metal frame

Description

This little coin purse is the perfect size to pop into your pocket with a little cash, a key and maybe a lip balm, when you want to travel light. It’s also a great way to wrap up a money gift for a birthday or holiday gift, or to give as a bridesmaid gift.

I’ve made the purse with a Liberty Tana Lawn print called ‘Alpine Pasture’, a design imbued with all the miniature enchantments of a dew-kissed mountain meadow – where bluebells and daisies glimmer in the early morning sunlight, and the puff of a dandelion clock drifts off on the crest of a gentle breeze. The purse is lined with woven cotton for strength and stability, as well as some soft fleece to give a puffy effect that feels nice in your hand. The inside of the purse is lined with a deep golden coloured medium weight cotton – hard wearing enough to stand up to those coins jiggling about.

The engraved metal frame of the purse is a bronze colour and I’ve hand stitched it into place using a toning perle cotton in a golden shade.

The purse measures 8cm (3.25 inches) across at the top of the frame and 10cm (4 inches) across at the bottom, where I’ve boxed off the corners to give a little depth to the bottom of the purse of 3.5cm (1.5 inches). It stands a little over 9cm (3.5 inches) tall, which is just right to carry a credit card or two, if you wish to – the last photograph shows a purse of this size with cards, notes and coins inside.
