This little coin purse is the perfect size to pop into your pocket with a little cash, a key and maybe a lip balm, when you want to travel light. It’s also a great way to wrap up a money gift for a birthday or holiday gift, or to give as a bridesmaid gift.

I’ve made the purse with what is a bit of a historic fabric for my small business as this is my very first exclusive print, made with a photograph taken by my husband of a rather damp little blue tit in our garden in Winter, 2021. The lining is a sparkling metallic Essex Linen in blue and silver, which felt like the perfect partner to the cool snowy background of the print. Both layers are interfaced with woven cotton for strength and longevity, and I’ve also added a layer of soft fleece to give a puffy effect that feels nice in your hand.

The engraved silver metal frame of the purse is hand stitched into place using a toning perle cotton. The purse measures 8cm (3.25 inches) across at the top of the frame and 10cm (4 inches) across at the bottom, where I’ve boxed off the corners to give a little depth to the bottom of the purse of 3.5cm (1.5 inches). It stands a little over 9cm (3.5 inches) tall, which is just right to carry a credit card or two, if you wish to.
