Sock fabric gift bag and paper wrapper – the perfect way to gift your hand made socks, with room for writing a gift message on the wrapper

When I spend many hours hand knitting or crocheting sock gifts for loved ones, it feels right to spend a little more time and effort on gift wrapping and I often sew up a drawstring fabric bag. I know that many of my fellow yarnies don’t sew, so I thought I’d add a selection of these fabric gift bags to my shop, so more people have the option to use them. They’re also a great way eco friendly wrapping option, especially since the recipient can use the bag again – a fabulous ‘twofer’ gift!

This selection of bags have been made with a variety of fabric styles from my collection of Liberty prints and Essex Linens (the dogs bag even has metallic shimmer – see close up photo!), all with co-ordinating solid cotton linings and satin ribbon closures. When you buy one of these bags, you’ll also receive a sock wrapper with a fun sloth design on the front, which I print on heavy paper. I leave the wrapper long so that you can trim it to the size you want and there’s plenty of room on the back to write your gift message before you secure it with a little tape.

You can see the dimensions of the bags in the last photograph, but in meaningful terms, they’re big enough for a pair of men’s size 9 socks knit with fingering weight yarn and folded over with the paper wrapper around them (meaning that the useable space below the drawstring is 22.75cm / 9″). If you need a bigger bag for larger / chunkier socks or for a different kind of handmade gift with other dimensions, just request a custom order.
