Project bag – a generously sized zipped pouch with detachable wristlet, perfect for knit, crochet or sewing projects, make up or toiletries

I’m calling this a project bag because that’s how I’d use it, but you can use it however you like! If you don’t have endless knit, crochet and sewing projects to put in it as I do, you could use it as a larger sized make up bag, for toiletries, or really anything else you’d put in a generously sized zippered bag. It makes a great gift for a creative friend – trust me, they’ll find LOTS of things to put in it!

The bag is made by partnering up two pieces of quality cotton, which I stitch together, then interface for strength before adding a layer of fleece for soft squishiness. I then line the bag with a coordinating cotton, which has a slip pocket added, and everything is stitched together with a good quality YKK zip and top stitched for a tidy finish. The final touch is adding a removable wristlet strap using a simple keychain loop and clasp.

This bag features a whimsical flower print from the Les Fleurs collection by Rifle Paper Co for Cotton and Steel. I’ve partnered this up with navy Robert Kaufman Kona cotton on the outer and a lovely soft periwinkle blue inside, with a toning blue YKK zip.

The bag stands 7.75 inches / 19.5cm tall and is 9.5 inches / 24cm wide at the widest point. The depth measured across the bottom is 3.5 inches / 8.25cm. I’ve included a picture of the bag with a skein of yarn, to give an idea of scale.
