70s Tilda

Description

This is a ‘non-play with’ decorative type doll known as a ‘Tilda doll’ created by the Norwegian designer Tone Finnanger.  These  figures serve no other purpose than to look lovely and complement your decor.  You can sit them on a window sill, a piece of furniture or a shelf – anywhere they can get a bit of a lean on – or you could display them using figure stands that can be bought online (or made quite easily for the more adventurous amongst you!).

The figure is stuffed with a high loft fire retardant polyester stuffing and is made from a linen / cotton blend cloth.  She is 68.5 cms from tip to toe.

Whilst 70s Tilda’s dress nods to the more current trends of colour blocking and semi-transparent, the 70s were very much in my mind when I designed and made the tiered maxi dress and floppy broad brimmed hat.  The dress and hat are crocheted in fine cotton thread and the rose on the hat is crocheted from a silk and mohair blend yarn.  The bodice of the dress is laced at the back and is removable, if you need / want to remove it for any reason.  I may have gone a bit far with the satin choker at the neck and another rose tucked behind her ear, but this is the 70s, man…

You have a choice of hair colour.

All our decorative dolls are made to order.
