Description
You can read all about the process of me designing and making this quilt on my blog, here, here, here and here. The design invokes the idea of a window set into a wallpapered wall, looking out onto the forest and the creatures that live there. The quilt is 100% hand stitched.
This would make a lovely quilt for a child’s room, or as a living room throw or lap quilt, as a wall hanging or even to keep in the car for passengers having a nap! If you wanted to use it as a wall hanging, I can add a hanging sleeve to the back – just request this when you place your order.
The quilt measures 89cm wide by 90cm deep and is made of 100% cotton, as is the wadding inside. The all over hand stitching is cotton perle embroidery thread and the stitches are of a utility style, which looks different on the reverse of the quilt to the front. The stitches are hand ties and crow’s feet – you can see what these stitches look like, and the various colours I used in making them, in the close up picture.
